值得注意的是，防護服材料的幾種性能有嚴(yán)格標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，包括防護性（密封性）、服用性、衛(wèi)生性。其中防護性要求具有液體阻隔功能，防護服關(guān)鍵部位（左右前襟、左右臂及背部位置）帶著抗?jié)B水性，可耐靜水壓不低于1.67千帕（kPa）；抗合成血液穿透性不低于2級，即合成血液以1.75千帕的壓強作用于防護服上，5分鐘后不得穿透；同時，防護服外側(cè)面沾水等級不低于3級。此外，還要防微顆粒物穿透，關(guān)鍵部位及接縫處對非油性顆粒物的過濾效率不低于70%。

對于服用性要求，防護服要有足夠強度和尺寸穩(wěn)定性，進行拉伸試驗時，斷裂強力不低于45牛，斷裂伸長率不低于30%；穿著舒適性方面，防護服材料具有透濕量要求。而衛(wèi)生性則要求自身，無皮膚刺激性，抗霉菌滋生。
